parkrun is a free 5k run held every Saturday across the nation.
It’s open to anyone whether you run, jog, walk, push a buggy, wheel your wheelchair – it’s not a race, but a fun way to get the nation out and moving.
For Exmouth Deaf Awareness week, BSL Bear travelled to Exmouth esplanade along with a group of purple-clad New Deaf Academy supporters, all ready to tackle the (admittedly flat) 5k. The pre-run talk was signed by British Sign Language teacher Fiona, and despite the dismal conditions, plenty of runners turned up to show their support for the new Academy and enjoy a cold, soggy run along the seafront!
BSL Bear was in exceptionally high spirits as you can see from the clip below!
Exmouth Deaf Awareness week has been an amazing experience so far, and we’re overwhelmed by all the support and warm wishes we have been receiving.
